Pragati is an annual technological innovation competition where students from post and under-graduate courses of various disciplines compete with each other by creating projects / business plans. This competition is organised in even semester of every academic year (mostly in the month of March). Pragati started as a mere intra-college event but over the years it has reached to the national level getting participants from as far as Himachal Pradesh and Tamilnadu.
Pragati has provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their work to local crowd, investors and industry experts. The networking and publicity offered by Pragati is unparallel thanks to the number of visitors, SFIT E-cell’s social media posts and YouTube videos.
Keynote sessions and panel discussions involving successful entrepreneurs, alumni members and mentors is something to look forward too. These events have always been well-received and were helpful to attendees in gaining important insights about various aspects of start-ups.
This is an outreach effort of SFIT E-cell conducted as an independent event under the umbrella of internationally renowned TED talks. TEDxSFIT is successfully connecting local community and entrepreneurs, giving a global platform for sharing thought-provoking ideas thereby creating an ecosystem for sustainable entrepreneurship. The TEDxSFIT talks are published on TEDx Talks YouTube channel after screening from the TED team
Unnati is an annual workshop spread over 2-3 days focussing on several aspects of entrepreneurship like ideation, business plan development, pitching etc. We invite entrepreneurs and academicians from various walks of life who teach and interact with the start-up groups individually. Unnati is also open for start-up groups from other colleges.
This event is organised especially for the first-year students to familiarize them with the facilities available at the SFIT to support their entrepreneurial dream. Faculty and student members of e-cell give a presentation about SFIT’s start-up policy, e-cell events and initiatives and the incubation centre. Also, various skills required to set up and run a business are addressed through interactive games and activities.
This is a series of skill-building workshops conducted by experts on digital marketing, video and photography, computer graphics, mobile application development, team building and intellectual property rights etc.
SFIT E-cell is also committed to support current as well as former SFIT students by providing required business and technology mentoring. We have built a network of dedicated mentors who are passionate about start-ups and conduct regular mentoring sessions with their mentees. Also, we support start-ups by our alumni members by facilitating internships, publicity and other services.
