LAGORI-The ABU Robocon 21st Game
Theme LinkLagori is a traditional and one of the most played ancient games that originate in the southern part of India. It was one of the most popular game in India around the 1990s.
One can find the game history in Bhagavata Purana, Hindu religious text written around 5000 years ago. It mentions that Lord Krishna played this game with his friends.
The game is between two teams (Team 1: “Seeker” and Team 2: “Hitter”) and the game starts by throwing a ball by the seeker to break a stone tower called “Lagori”. While the seekers try to pile up the stones again, the hitter throws balls to interrupt them.

Throwing Arrows into Pots-The ABU Robocon 20th Anniversary Game
Theme Link"Throwing arrows into pots" is a traditional etiquette and game in ancient China. During the Spring/Autumn(770 BC-476 BC) and the Warring States(475 BC-221 BC) period, one of the manners of the leuds when entertaining guests is to invite guests to shoot arrows, called as "shooting rites".
At that time, the host asked the guest to shoot an arrow, and the guest could not refuse. Later, in order to enable guests who were really not good archery to participate in the game, they thrown arrows into wine pots instead, to make guests happy and practice etiquette.
Over time, it has become a kind of hospitality and elegant game during banquets. It has spread for more than 2700 years and evolved from the original ritual activities to entertainment games.

ROBO RUGBY 7s
Theme LinkThe ABU Robocon 2020 Suva contest is to play rugby 7’s game using two robots and five obstacles as five defending players. The highlight of this game is how the two robots collaborate to score Try and the Goal Kick.
The main and unique challenge of this game will be Goal Kick, kicking the Kick Ball over the cross bar of the conversion post because of the unique shape of the rugby ball. The audience will be fascinated if the robot made all the Goals successfully.
We are looking forward to witnessing exciting games of unique robots built by the young budding engineers in Suva, Fiji. Based on this concept, ABU Robocon 2020 Suva is designed to promote the idea of “Rugby 7’s”.
